Yr 3 – Mrs Driver and Mrs Gosling

YEAR 3 Trip to Hill End –

STONE AGE DAY

We had a great day at Hill End. We made shelters from wood we collected. We made spears out of willow and flint. We made bread over a camp fire. We ground wheat !

Year 3 enjoyed making their volcanoes….and

then there was high excitement as they made

them explode !

On the 23rd and 24th March all of Year 3 took part in their residential visit to Grendon Hall in Northamptonshire.  We were lucky with the weather which was chilly but sunny.  The children took part in a range of activities: the nightline course which is an obstacle course that they do whilst blindfolded, a low ropes course over the swamp, archery and a high ropes course called ‘Tarzan’.  In the evening we sat around a camp fire singing songs and eating marshmallows.

Class 3 enjoyed dressing up in their favourite book characters for World Book Day.

The children have all been working really hard in their swimming sessions and many have achieved certificates.

We have enjoyed sharing our potions homework with each other.

In RE we have been learning about the miracles Jesus performed.  Can you work out which story we are telling with our freeze frames?

Class 3 welcomed visitors to their Global Cafe last week.  It was a great success.  The children were able to cook lots of different dishes from around the world and enjoyed sharing their knowledge with others.

Class 3 had an enjoyable trip to Pizza Express and Sainsburys.
